Immortal Path to Heaven

Chapter 755 - Making Use Of A Loophole

Chapter 755: Making Use Of A Loophole

Peng Yanbing kept quiet for a long time before he asked, “Master Ou, can you sell this equipment that you smithed?”

Ou Yangming was surprised. “Sect Elder, since you don’t really understand Tool Spirits, why do you still want this equipment?”

“It’s exactly because I don’t understand them that I want a piece of equipment with one.” Peng Yanbing smiled bitterly. He paused for a while before he continued, “The probability of occurrence for items with Tool Spirits is extremely low and close to zero, but the Spiritual Realm is massive and has a long history, so there’s actually more than one clan that possess them.”

The young fellow furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “Sect Elder, didn’t you say that this is the first Tool Spirit Equipment that you’ve seen?”

“Hehe, this is indeed that first Tool Spirit Equipment that I’ve examined, where the spirit’s also unhatched.” Peng Yanbing grinned with his eyes squinted.

Ou Yangming cursed internally, ‘This old fella’s really harassing me unreasonably.’

Nonetheless, Peng Yanbing smiled bitterly and continued, “Master Ou, pieces of Tool Spirit Equipment are much more valuable than you can imagine. Even if a clan has something like that, they’ll only use it in front of people but will never let famous blacksmiths like us appraise it.”

The young fellow hesitated for a while before he asked, “Sect Elder, does the Beast King Sect have any Tool Spirit Equipment?”

Peng Yanbing was stunned. He shook his head and answered, “I have no idea.”

“You have no idea?”

“Yes, unless you ask Yuqi the Venerable One or Elder Macaque, nobody can give you an accurate answer,” Peng Yanbing responded faintly.

Ou Yangming nodded and thought, ‘Looks like pieces of Tool Spirit Equipment are valuable beyond my imagination.’

Peng Yanbing cleared his throat and asked again, “Master Ou, let’s return to the subject—your equipment...”

“Sect Elder, I’m willing to sell it, but what will you use to exchange for it?” Ou Yangming answered after some thought.

The sect elder was excited. “Yes, I have plenty of rare items. They’re not as rare as pieces of Tool Spirit Equipment, but they’re definitely hard to come by.” He stood up and said, “Please come with me.”

Ou Yangming nodded and followed Peng Yanbing out of the Smithing Hall, then they arrived at the elder’s residence.

Being one of the honorable sect elders, Peng Yanbing’s residence could be considered the most luxurious one in the Beast King Sect; it was unquestionably much better than where Ou Yangming was staying at.

Even so, Ou Yangming could not be bothered. As long as he was willing to, he could be shifted to an equally luxurious or a more splendid residence.

Peng Yanbing brought Ou Yangming into his residence. After going past 3 strictly guarded areas, they finally arrived at a basement. With his back facing the young fellow, the sect elder employed a special technique, causing the basement door to open slowly after a brief moment.

“Master Ou, please come in.” Peng Yanbing entered the basement first.

Ou Yangming followed Peng Yanbing without any hesitation. Although it seemed rather reckless of him to do so, he believed that the sect elder would not harm him in the Beast King Sect. If not, both Yuqi the Venerable One and the old macaque would not let the elder off easily.

Once Ou Yangming entered the basement and looked around, he was dumbfounded.

Over 10 shelves were placed here, each one not made of ironwood but carved from jade.

The more exaggerated part about them was no binding spots could be seen on the shelves, which meant that they were carved from one whole jade each.

Putting aside everything else, the shelves alone were priceless.

Peng Yanbing chuckled proudly. “Master Ou, these are whole jades. They’re not precious items, but large whole jades like them can’t be easily found.”

Ou Yangming shook his head and remarked, “This is quite wasteful, isn’t it?”

The sect elder laughed. “How is this wasteful? If these jade shelves are used to keep pills and medicines, no doubt, they suit the best.” He went forward and began to introduce the shelves one by one.

Ou Yangming initially thought that Peng Yanbing, who was the Beast King Sect’s greatest blacksmith, should mainly store pieces of equipment or rare materials. Who knew, after seeing the elder’s most precious treasures, he found out that the majority of the elder’s collection was various spiritual pills and medicines.

In particular, Peng Yanbing had prepared at least 10 over types of life-prolonging spiritual medicines. There were so many kinds of them that even Ou Yangming was struck dumb.

Needless to say, Peng Yambing also collected some incredibly precious pieces of equipment and rare ores. The ores were fine, but the pieces of equipment were at least Fine Grade magic tools, which also carried notable and rare attributes.

In a way, any of the pieces of equipment would cause a sensation and be snatched by numerous people.

Ou Yangming scanned the items quietly and even picked them up one by one to inspect them.

In actuality, each time the young fellow picked up a piece of equipment, his Military Fire would flicker in his palm. It would not cause any damage to the equipment, but the equipment’s properties would be clear for him to see.

Given that the pieces of equipment were carefully kept by Peng Yanbing, sure enough, they had their strengths, hence even Ou Yangming was moved.

The Fine Grade magic tools were already tremendously precious, but their Unique Attributes were more remarkable and enviable.

Nevertheless, after looking at the pieces of equipment, Ou Yangming no longer touched them.

Throughout the process, Peng Yanbing did not say a word at all, but it was clear through the look in his eyes that he was reluctant to let any of the equipment go.

Whenever Ou Yangming picked up a piece of equipment, the sect elder had a complicated feeling; he hoped that the young fellow would choose the equipment, but he also wished that the fellow would put it down.

After all, every piece of equipment here was valuable and could also be considered one of a kind. If Peng Yanbing were to lose any of them, he could not guarantee that he would be able to find a replacement.

Having said that, Peng Yanbing became highly spirited again at the thought of the Tool Spirit Equipment.

He would be willing to pay any price to get his hands on the Tool Spirit Equipment.

Seeing as Ou Yangming put down all of the equipment, Peng Yanbing finally blurted, “Master Ou, you’re not interested in any of them at all?” If that was really the say, it could only mean that the young fellow had a ridiculously high demand.

“These pieces of equipment are unusually exquisite, but they’re not very useful to me.” Ou Yangming shook his head. He paused for a while before he explained, “My mentor, who taught me the path of smithing, told me that no matter how impressive a piece of equipment might be, it’ll only be considered outstanding if it’s used by someone that can put it to good use. In this case, I’m not the best candidate to use these pieces of equipment.”

Peng Yanbing was stupefied for a while. He later commented seriously, “The person that said that must be a real smithing master. I wonder who he is—will I get the chance to meet him?”

Ou Yangming twitched his mouth and answered, “Perhaps you’ll get the chance to.”

If Old Craftsman was here, Ou Yangming would not mind letting other people meet him. Besides, even if it was for the sake of him, Peng Yanbing would not make things difficult for the old man.

The young fellow later looked around and fixed his gaze on the minerals. “Sect Elder, I’d like to take 3 ores and 3 bottles of pills. May I?”

“Of course,” Peng Yanbing answered without any hesitation.

In actual fact, the sect elder felt that Ou Yangming did not make a wise choice. He had gathered many pills, but his profession was a blacksmith, after all, thus the most valuable items in his treasure house were the pieces of equipment.

Instead of taking intact pieces of equipment, Ou Yangming settled for pills and minerals instead, so Peng Yanbing agreed to it right away.

Ou Yangming smiled and picked 3 bottles of pills, which were all life-prolonging pills. Given that they could be found here, they were naturally the best of the best.

Following that, he went over to the area for minerals and seemingly casually took 3 ores.

Peng Yanbing frowned. The pills that were selected by Ou Yangming were not much; they were invaluable, but the elder had channels to procure them. On the other hand, one of the minerals that were chosen by the young fellow was something that even the elder did not recognize.

It was a purely white ore, which was found by Peng Yanbing in a market.

Even though Peng Yanbing did not recognize it, being a top-notch blacksmith, he could sense surging yet peculiar energy from it.

It was cold energy that gave Peng Yanbing chills, and it was the exact reason he was interested in it, so he brought it back. Despite that, no matter how hard he looked for information about it, he could not identify the item’s origin. Since the sect elder was caught up with work, he eventually delayed the matter and only remembered it when Ou Yangming picked it.

“Master Ou, do you know what that is?” Peng Yanbing asked curiously.

Ou Yangming answered after a moment of hesitation, “No.”

“Oh, then why did you choose it?”

“It’s because I felt something familiar when I looked at it.”

“Familiar?” Peng Yanbing was in disbelief. ‘The cold feeling actually seemed familiar to Ou Yangming...’ His conception of the world seemed to have overturned at this moment.

However, Peng Yanbing was a master, after all. He shook his head and curbed his thought.

Whether Ou Yangming was lying to him or actually felt something familiar, he was delighted that he could exchange the unknown ore for a desired piece of equipment.

The 2 other ores were valuable as well, but they were far from the Tool Spirit Equipment.

Once Ou Yangming packed up everything, he smiled and left the strictly guarding basement without needing Peng Yanbing to hurry him.

Peng Yanbing nodded as he was pleased by the young fellow’s politeness.

After leaving the basement, Ou Yangming retrieved the round shield from his interspatial bag and handed it over to the elder. “Sect Elder, this is yours now.”

Peng Yanbing’s eyes gleamed. He accepted the round shield eagerly and inspected it carefully to make sure that it was the Tool Spirit Equipment that he had dreamed of.

He nodded at Ou Yangming and expressed his gratitude, “Master Ou, thank you.”

Ou Yangming waved his hand and smiled. “We’re just taking what we need.” He cupped his hands and left.

Being drowned in happiness, Peng Yanbing did not notice Ou Yangming curling his lips into a strange smile the moment he turned and left.

It was a proud and pleasant feeling of having made use of a loophole.
